No More Symbian Handsets – And That’s Official

Nokia has finally come clean over whether it intends to continue manufacturing Symbian-based smartphones. But the company says that while they won’t make any more handsets, the operating system will still be around for some time yet, until 2012.

A spokesperson for Nokia told knowyourmobile.com: “Our intention is that when users come to the end of the natural lifecycle of their Symbian device they will make the change to a Nokia Windows Phone device and so it would not be in our interests to undermine their Nokia smartphone experience.”
