Beat the winter blues: put cash for your mobile towards a night away
It’s been a long, cold winter and I am really beginning to feel the weight of it. What I need is a break; a change of scenery. Just one night away from home, spent in warmth and a bit of luxury to recharge my batteries and refresh my outlook on life. Recycling my mobile could help give me that.
I think we’re all tired of the winter. It’s been one of the longest in awhile – and one of the coldest. The novelty of snow has worn off. The fun of pulling out the winter jumpers and hats is over. The excitement of holidays is long since passed and now, the dark days are really getting to us. It’s the final push before spring. It’s time for a break.
Looking up bed and breakfasts in my area, I see that the average price for a one-night stay is about £70. So, depending upon the type of phone I have, by recycling I could supplement the expense, pay for the whole thing full stop, or even make it a “night to remember”.
For instance, for a Blackberry Bold 9000, I could get as much as £134. A Nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold is worth about £140. And, of course, with £304 for my Apple iPhone 3G S 32GB, I could really recharge by adding a second night away!
There are a lot of good reasons to recycle your old mobile. Beating the winter blues is just one of them.
