Landfills are ugly: go green by recycling your mobile
I would think that it only the most stubborn of us who hasn’t felt the twinge of guilt that comes from not being conscientious enough about helping the environment. When we throw a bottle into the rubbish bin, when we know it should have gone to recycling. When we leave the tap on as we brush our teeth, knowing that we should turn it off until we’re ready to rinse. Every little thing we fail to do hurts; and while it may be just a drop in the ocean from our perspective—we must remember, it is those drops that an ocean is made from.
Have you ever thought about what happens to your old mobile phone when you throw it away? Where does it go? Or is it more an “out of sight, out of mind” thing for you. Well, let me tell you; your mobile goes into a landfill. A big, ugly, smelly, crater in the earth filled with the throw-away things in our lives. The more we waste, the bigger the landfill. And like those drops that make an ocean, it is item by item that a landfill is created. So why add to it when you don’t have to?
I guess what I am trying to say is that, if cash for your old mobile isn’t an incentive for you to recycle your phone, perhaps respect for the environment is. Waste not; want not. Recycling your phone is a winning proposition—in more ways than one.
