The Nokia C5 is an inexpensive, ‘old school’ styled phone that incorporates a few modern day features. Available through most UK mobile phone service providers, technically the Nokia C5 isn’t the most advanced of phones. However, those who aren’t bothered by so much technology, but instead are looking for simplicity and ease of use, the Nokia C5 is a good choice.
The phone, which is a candy bar style, includes features like 3G, social networking, multimedia, and others. Affordably priced, the Nokia C5 comes in brushed black and brushed silver.
The handset is 11 x 46 x 12.3 millimetres in size and weighs 89.3 grams. The display is a TFT at 2.2 inches in size, with 16 million colours in 240 x 320 resolution. There are two cameras included: on the back is a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash capable of capturing stills at 2048 x 1536 pixels; on the front is a VGA 15 fps camera for video calling. There is also a 3.5 mm standard headphone jack for listening to tunes through the MP3 player and the battery life is incredibly impressive with this phone.
In the applications department, social networking features include built-in Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, hi5, and Friendster applications, while navigational apps include A-GPS and Ovi Maps. Also included is a document viewer for easily viewing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents.
There is 50 MB of built-in storage, 128 MB RAM, and a 16 GB microSD slot for expansion. The phone supports 3G HSDPA, HSUPA, EDGE, and GPRS. Web browsing is through WAP 2.0.
