
Blackberrys and Apple iPhones are being turned in for Christmas money.

Research in Motion, the makers of the BlackBerry SmartPhone, has announced three new mobiles – all featuring the new BlackBerry 7 operating system.

In its continued pursuit to providing global multi-platform, multi-modal communications, Skype has announced the acquisition of a sticky group messaging service called GroupMe for an undisclosed amount.

Research in Motion (RIM), the makers of BlackBerry smartphones and tablets, has recently announced their purchase of a company called JayCut, a video editing software firm headquartered in Sweden.

The one thing that Blackberry has always had over other mobile phone platforms is Blackberry Messenger, or BBM.

According to Phil Libin, they are; at least for Evernote – a company whose software allows you to capture, save, and then access information on your desktop and/or mobile gadgets.

All over the mobile phone news sites you will see reports about the demise of BlackBerry; they just don’t seem to be able to complete with the likes of Android and Apple. However, while it may feel like a good idea to follow the herd, as Mr Ketchum points out, there are some good reasons to consider staying true to the BlackBerry.
