BlackBerry Pearl Available On Vodafone

Blackberry Pearl 3G Pink BlackBerry Pearl Available On VodafoneThinking of getting a BlackBerry Pearl 3G? Then you can have one in pink for £25 per month from Vodafone.

Unlike other BlackBerry’s the Pearl 3G sports a 12 button alphanumeric keyboard rather than the traditional QWERTY keyboard.  However commentators say this hasn’t hampered the smartphone in any way.

Available very shortly, for just £25 per month, you get 500 call minutes and unlimited texts as well as 500MB of internet data.

The phone also features a 3.2 megapixel camera as well as the usual messaging and connectivity facilities for which RIM’s BlackBerrys are renowned.

The media keys are also said to be comfortable to handle.

The pink BlackBerry Pearl 3G is currently only available on the Vodafone network.  So if pink isn’t your colour and/or Vodafone not your favourite network, then you will have to wait a little longer to get the handset.

In other news, Sony Ericsson has announced that customers using their Xperia X10 smartphone will be getting the handset upgraded to Android 2.1. This will happen by the end of September.

Mobile phone manufacturers have been slated over the past months for taking too long to upgrade user’s handsets. This is particularly more annoying for some since Android has already updated the previous 2.1 upgrade to 2.2.

To give Sony Ericsson credit however, the company has beefed up its previous stance which was rather vague. That said the general comment is “we’ll see it when it happens.”
