Confirmation about ICS update

Vodafone Confirmation about ICS updateVodafone has announced that the Samsung Galaxy SII is to get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich from this week.

A spokesperson for the network operator said: “The ICS update has passed our testing and will be released over the air and via Kies on 12th April.”

While this announcement is perhaps not that much of a surprise, nevertheless it is probably gratifying for those Galaxy SII users who have been waiting in anticipation for news of the upgrade.

Though the rollout is still rather slow, O2 and Three UK have already started this process for their customers. T-Mobile and Orange, however, are still nowhere near doing so. What is more, neither company have issued any confirmation date.

If you are a customer of either Orange or T-Mobile, you may have a longer wait than expected. Hopefully it will be sorted sooner rather than later.

In other news, the Motorola Pro Plus was recently reviewed and was given a four out of five star rating.

Reviewers described it as a BlackBerry-esque phone with its QWERTY keyboard and curvy design.
The device itself features a respectable five-megapixel camera, but the reviewers believe the current Android operating system is holding the handset back. It uses Gingerbread.

Performance-wise it is considered fair, handling games well. However, the reviewers criticise the single-core processor when other phones are now dual and even quad-core.

All in all, the Motorola Pro Plus is considered to be a very good alternative to the BlackBerry.
