Excitement Over Samsung’s New Phones
Commentators are excited at the news that Samsung is about to release not one but three new handsets very soon.
The first of these is the Samsung Galaxy S, which you will be able to get on the Vodafone network. Customers can pre-order the 16GB device, which runs Google’s Android 2.1 operating system direct from Vodafone’s own web site.
In an exclusive deal for the 16GB version; the Galaxy S is free on two-year, £35-per-month contracts. It includes 900 minutes of free calls, unlimited free text messages and monthly data allowance of 1GB.
The handset itself features Samsung’s Social Hub, which collates texts, emails, instant messages and events into a single, real-time feed. This makes it easier to stay in touch with friends. The phone also boasts a 4 inch AMOLED screen and a five megapixel camera. It can also shoot high-definition film.
Samsung’s other new handsets are the Samsung Wave and the Galaxy Apollo (i5801).
The Wave will run Samsung’s own Bada operating system while the Apollo is another Android device.
Reviewers have noted that the new Galaxy Apollo is not quite as high tech as its older brother with only a 3.2 inch capacitive touch display and a three megapixel camera. That said the handset supports the current Android 2.1 firmware as well as the new 802.11n wireless standard. The handset also incorporates a FM radio and a 3.5 inch audio jack.
No details of price are known as yet.
