First Mango Handset for ZTE Unveiled

Mango First Mango Handset for ZTE UnveiledChinese mobile phone manufacturer, ZTE has unveiled its first ever Windows Phone 7 Mango device. Called Tania it was showcased at this year’s China International Communications Exhibition.

Although not all the features of this new smartphone are known, some of the specifications that are known, include a 4.3 inch WVGA display, a 1GHZ microprocessor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB Internal Storage, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

It isn’t known for certain that the ZTE Tania will be shipped to Britain, mainly because the handset is a Chinese made device so it may just be aimed at the Asian market. However experts are quite impressed so far with the gadget so it would be rather surprising if ZTE didn’t at least try to market it in Europe.

In the meantime, another major Asian company – Samsung – is celebrating shipping 10 million units of its flagship device, the Galaxy S 2. Also a cause for celebration is that sales of the handset have rocketed in the short time since it was released.

This is very interesting news since Apple tried to get the handset banned in Europe, with only Germany actually using their legal system to prevent the phone from being sold. Even so, that could change at some point.

Experts reckon that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the iPhone’s direct competitor. Given Apple’s antipathy towards Samsung, the commentators are probably correct. Furthermore, the handset arrived on US soil two weeks ago so many commentators are now looking to see what effect it has on iPhone sales, especially when the new iPhone is finally released.
