Fujitsu Announces A Quad-Core Smartphone At CES
Well known computer maker Fujitsu has decided to venture into the smartphone market by creating its first (as yet unnamed) device. Interestingly it is said to be a quad-core phone.
The company unveiled the new handset at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. It sports a 4.6-inch 720p resolution touchscreen, and will run the Android operating system.
However, what’s got experts hot under the collar is the fact that the new handset will feature an Nvidia Tegra 3 ‘Kal-El’ quad core processor, spinning at 1.2GHz. It also features a large camera at 13 megapixels.
Other than the above, Fujitsu has not divulged anything further about this seemingly impressive new smartphone. Nor has the company outlined any pricing structure, nor whom it will be partnering with to get it out on the market. Consequently, it isn’t known whether it will be just aimed at the Asian market or will be rolled out worldwide. No doubt Fujitsu will be more forthcoming next month when they attend the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
It seems that the handset at present is still in the building stage, so presumably there will be much more to see next month; not to mention a demonstration of it capabilities.
The new smartphone while new to Fujitsu is a follow on from the company’s recent new innovation – the Arrows Tablet, which is said to be waterproof. This was also showcased at the CES event.
