Google’s new phone here by the end of the month

android logo Google’s new phone here by the end of the monthExperts believe that the LG Nexus smartphone built on behalf of Google is expected to be in the UK by 29th October.

Interestingly, this is the same day as the launch of Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone operating system – version 8.

The LG Nexus is thought to be just one of a number of Nexus phones that various manufacturers are creating for Google. Google apparently wants to give its partner manufacturers the chance to develop the brand. These companies include LG, Samsung, HTC, Sony, and possibly its own recent acquisition, Motorola.

The idea is to create what are called flagship phones, and Nexus is fast becoming a brand that will put Google at the forefront of its smartphone development aspirations.

Moreover, flagship phones are known to be big sellers. Sales of Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and HTC’s One X devices are testament to this. The former is rivalling Apple’s iPhone for top spot.

What is featured in the LG Nexus? Experts say that the handset should possess a 1280×768-pixel display, a Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.1, also known as Jelly Bean.

They also say that these sorts of features make the LG Nexus one of the most powerful smartphones around.

Commentators also think that by creating a multiple number of ‘brand’ devices, Google could put Apple on the back foot. This is particularly relevant after Apple’s determination to bury Google and its partner firms in constant legal wrangles.

Whether this works, only time will tell. The proof will be in the number of sales of all the Nexus handsets.
