iPhone Problems Continue

Apple iPhone 4G x 3 iPhone Problems ContinueNo sooner has one problem been solved another rears its head. This time iPhone users are complaining of being charged heavily for using the handset abroad.

British customers complained to both their network and an online money saving web site. They said that despite switching off the data roaming button on the device they were still charged.

In one case a customer received a bill for nearly £1500 after her trip to the USA.

The majority of complaints were directed at O2 who have the highest number of users but the other networks still had a sizeable number making complaints.

Speaking with the telegraph.co.uk, Martin Lewis founder of MoneySavingExpert.com said: “Those who have paid when they shouldn’t have should contact their network immediately and demand a refund.

“In some cases, we’re hearing the networks are paying out without too much argument, which could indicate this is a known problem. Let’s hope it does not get brushed under the carpet.”

One of the problems that may be attributing to the problem is not updating the software regularly as well as ensuring that the data transfer button is switched off before travelling.

Roaming charges are applied to both calls and data. It seems that the complaints apply to charges made prior to the recent EU ruling. In order to ascertain the cause of the problem, O2 told telegraph.co.uk: “We are investigating these problems with Apple.”

This could another Apple saga that will continue to heap bad publicity onto an already embattled company.
