Mobile phone experts received an invitation by HTC this week to attend the company’s press launch in London on the 15^th September.

The invitation simply said: “Come see what HTC has dreamt up 15 September in London. RSVP to confirm you attendance. More details to follow.”

So, what could this new device be? While some people think it might be the follow on to HTC’s first Android device – the HTC Dream others believe it is likely to be HTC’s recently leaked new handset – the Desire HD.

Not a great deal is known about this latest device. What is expected is that it will feature a 4.3 inch screen and 4GB of internal memory. Android 2.2 is also the likely operating system.

Meanwhile, Amazon’s UK inadvertently uploaded the listing page for the HTC Desire HD and indicated that it would be sold Free for £415. The handset is listed as: HTC 99HLZ001-00 ACE/Desire HD.  Amazon has now removed the listing from the site.

This is rather odd to say the least as the phone hasn’t even been officially announced yet. Of course, Amazon was careful to state the item was out of stock. However, mobile phone aficionados will now realise how much they will have to fork out to get their hands on one when the device does surface.
