Is This The First Windows Mango Handset?
There are reports that HTC has manufactured the world’s first Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphone.
Called the HTC Omega, its details appear to have been published online. However this cannot be confirmed as there are no photographs of the device.
If the rumour is correct, experts think that the HTC Omega is likely to be similar to a previous Windows Phone 7 device called the Mozart. For this reason, features will probably include a 3.8 inch 800×480 S-LCD display screen, 16GB of internal storage, but without SD expansion, an 8 megapixel camera, 720p video shooting and a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor.
Mango is Microsoft’s latest update to its Windows Phone 7 operating system. While the original platform did not go down too well with experts, this new version has got them rather excited as it apparently sports a number of features not found on other platforms. Whether this will improve Microsoft’s flagging fortunes in the mobile phone market is too early to tell. Certainly, Nokia will be hoping so. They’ve put all their marketing energies into a deal with the software giant.
In other news Orange’s proprietary handset has been reviewed recently. What’s more, the review has been favourable. So if you are looking for something a little different at a price you can afford, the Orange Atlanta may be worth looking at. Feature wise it’s a basic phone without all the bells and whistles normally associated with today’s smartphones. But it seems this is considered a virtue as reviewers believe it has great ease of use, simply because it is not encumbered by all the gizmos.
