LG Officially Launches Prada

LG LG Officially Launches PradaNot content with launching one phone, LG Electronics also announced that the last smartphone of 2011 will the available from the 6th February. This is the LG Prada, named after the fashion stable.

It’s not certain whether the 6th February marks the release in all outlets. However, the online retailer Clove Technology has stated that it will be stocking the new LG 3.0 smartphone from that date.

If you fancy one, it is an Android Gingerbread device and not Ice Cream Sandwich, and will cost £429.99 inclusive of VAT.

This particular device is apparently the third developed by LG in collaboration with the fashion chain Prada. The first two were the LG KE850 Prada and the LG KF900 Prada.

It seems that a number of companies such as Prada, as well as network companies such as Orange, have seen the benefits of associating their products and services with mobile technology, particularly with smartphones.

As the smartphone runs Gingerbread, in theory it should be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. LG has not confirmed whether this is the case. It should be though as its microprocessor is a 1GHz dual-core chip. The display is also WVGA, the minimum requirement for Android’s latest cross gadget platform.

It seems that both LG and Prada are vying for a new type of clientele since LG is also offering potential customers other interesting add-ons, including a Prada docking station and Prada headset. There is even a little bag for the phone.
