Network operator 3UK is the first company in the UK that is offering customers the LG Viewty GT405 on both pre-pay and Contract.

You can get the handset for free if you sign up for an 18 month contract on the £15 Internet Tariff.  This gives you unlimited texts and internet with 75 anytime any network minutes.

Another contract option is £20 per month for which you get 200 minutes.

If you prefer the prepay option then you can buy the phone for £119.99.

Despite the relatively low cost, the Viewty is by all accounts quite a sophisticated handset. It features, up to 60MB internal memory, a 3 inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen (with stylus), a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus which is also capable of video capture, HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth, microSD support up to 8GB and S-Class UI.

The device also has instant messaging, email and social networking support; the latter includes applications for Facebook, eBay, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger and Skype.

Information on the 3 Store website says the handset comes with a Charger, Battery, Stereo Headset and Microphone, User Manual and PC Suite available on the LG website.

The network operator indicates that delivery of the handsets will not commence until May 7^th but once they do they will be offering free next day delivery for orders placed before 12 Noon, Monday to Friday.
