More information has been released about Microsoft’s new mobile phones – Kin One and Kin Two.

Kin One features a capacitive touchscreen spanning 2.6 inches with QVGA resolution. It also incorporates Wi-Fi, GPS for location finding, an accelerometer, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 port and 4GB of internal memory.

A 5 megapixel built-in camera is also included which interestingly features anti-shake and a dual flash.

Kin Two is similar to its sibling phone but in general appears to be larger in a number of ways. First, it has a larger internal memory at 8GB. Second, the display is bigger at 3.4inches with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Finally, the built-in camera is 8 megapixels.

Both phones make use of a QWERTY slider.

The handsets are aimed at the younger age group market and those who are looking for a device that is specialised for social networking.

The Kin One and Two are being manufactured by Sharp Electronics and will be able to synchronise with Facebook, Twitter and MySpace as well as integrate Microsoft’s iTunes-rival Zune.

Also incorporated, is an application called Kin Studio. This is an automatic online backup service for media, messages and contacts.

Users will be able to make full use of the Zune experience, with Zune synchronisation, music and video playback. Also available if you use Zune Pass is the ability to download songs from Zune Marketplace.
