Nokia’s New Windows 7 Smartphone Leaked Online

on laptop Nokia’s New Windows 7 Smartphone Leaked OnlineAlthough Nokia has done its best to keep its new handset under wraps, someone has managed to leak pictures of a device which experts think is the new device. However, some observers say that the leak was deliberate.

Known only by a code name – Sea Ray – the device apparently looks rather similar to Nokia’s N9 SmartPhone. This was unveiled this week, and will run the much slated MeeGo operating system. While general specifications are not known, what is known is that the device will feature a dedicated camera key and a gorilla glass touchscreen. It will also run Windows Phone 7, Mango version.  Mango is Microsoft’s latest update, and was officially announced earlier this month.

Experts believe that Nokia is likely to unveil and release a new batch of Windows phone handsets early in 2012, so everyone will have to continue being patient till then. When asked about how Nokia is developing it strategy, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop told knowyourmobile.com: “What you should be feeling is the capabilities of the mighty Nokia are shifting around and people are saying look at that. And ultimately there are a few competitors of ours in California that we would very much like to notice as well.”

There is currently some debate as to whether this ‘leak’ was a real leak. It has been suggested that it was in fact planned by Nokia in order to dangle a carrot about how the company is developing since it joined forces with Microsoft. Whether or not it was planned, it certainly did the trick of getting people talking.
