Nokia Release Pictures Of MeeGo
The much awaited details of the collaboration between Nokia and Intel to produce a new operating system are now online. It seems pictures of MeeGo have been spotted.
The pictures were first found on the Nokia Blog and appear to show some interesting features. These include an icon settings and applications screen such as music, SMS, camera, maps, video and chat.
MeeGo is not expected to be released before 2011, but Nokia will be hoping for some positive feedback. The company will also be hoping that this new operating system along with the recently released Symbian 3 will enable Nokia to stop the recent slide in popularity of its handsets.
Unfortunately, if Android has anything to say about this, Nokia may find this will be difficult.
Talking of which, BT has now teamed up with Google.
The telecommunications giant has released an application for both Android phones and the iPhone to allow users free access to around 1.6 million BT WiFi hotspots.
Downloading the application is free and will give customers who use the BT Total Broadband service plan instant connection to any BT Fon and BT OpenZone hotspots when in range.
The application benefits from the inclusion of a mapping service which will show and direct you to the closest available hotspot. BT have also announced that every time the application is downloaded they will donate 50p to charity.
