In response to a recent consultation exercise, Nokia technicians have produced a fantasy or concept phone based on the feedback. It was created to incorporate those things which Nokia phone fans wanted to see in a Nokia handset.
Called the U, the device seemingly features a 4 inch display, HDMI, USB 3.0, Dolby Surround Sound and an 8 megapixel camera with 4 times optical zoom.
Pictures of this concept handset appear to show it is similar in looks to the Nokia N8, albeit slimmer, and if manufactured for real would be made out of metal.
When Nokia unveiled this possible device it was welcomed by experts, one saying in a press release “ [it was] one we’d like to see put into production – especially after using the mightily impressive Nokia N8 for a long period of time.”
Unfortunately, most believe that the fantasy phone will be just that – a fantasy and will not be manufactured.
Meanwhile, Nokia’s big rival – Apple – has released the upgraded version of its operating system. The iOS4 for the iPhone and iPod Touch which apparently features some important updates was announced last week by Steve Jobs.
In a press release a spokesperson for Apple said the features of the new update include improvements to “the speed of the iPhone 3G on the new OS, [which] after the initial release of iOS4 pretty much reduced the older iPhone, in terms of speed, to a mere shadow of itself.”
“Bluetooth has been improved, so no more issues with certain car stereos…”
