If you have ever been fed up with the call quality when talking to someone on your mobile phone, then you may be interested in Orange’s new trial. The network company is to try out a new High Definition (HD) device called HD Voice.

The idea behind the trial is to see if the new system boosts clarity between calls for customers using their particular network.

The trial itself is targeted in the area around Bristol, Reading and Southampton. So, if you live in these places you could be lucky to find the quality of your calls is better.

Tom Alexander, Chief Executive of Everything Everywhere said: “The trial of mobile HD Voice is a significant milestone in the new company’s goal of delivering the best service in the industry.

“HD Voice represents a huge advance for the customer experience, a great leap forward for the mobile industry and we’re delighted to be at the forefront in bringing this innovation to the UK public.”

According to Orange, the trial hopes to signal a new era in mobile communication by trying to eliminate the distance factor which can cause problems for users when making calls. As such, the company hopes that the trial will demonstrate that call quality will be so good that callers could think they are speaking to each other in the same room.

If all goes to plan, Orange hopes to roll the new system out very quickly.
