If you are interested in the latest Facebook ready handset then you will be pleased to know the HTC ChaCha is available to pre-order from the Carphone Warehouse.  However there will be a bit of a wait still before you get your hands on this new handset as it isn’t expected to hit the shops until June at the earliest.

The deal on Orange starts from £24 per month for 24 months, although this contract term depends on the mixture of call minutes and texts etc you choose.  This means you could spend up to £30 or more on a reduced contract term of 18 months.  Carphone Warehouse also says that it is possible to pay upfront for the phone at £179.99, with a contract term of just £10 per month.

What does the HTC ChaCha feature?  Specifications include a QWERTY keyboard, a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, and a VGA front-facing camera for calls.  The touchscreen is a 2.6 inch, 480×320 resolution landscape display, while the processor is 600MHz.  Running Android 2.3, the HTC ChaCha has 512MB of memory plus plenty of space via a microSD memory card.

And of course, the HTC ChaCha is fully integrated with Facebook.

For some reason, HTC has decided to hold out giving the full details of the release date for the ChaCha however the companion Salsa smartphone is going to O2 in an exclusivity deal, and is expected to be available from the beginning of June.
