Samsung has announced the release of a new smartphone, which is available now in the UK. Samsung is known for constantly changing the name of its handsets depending on the area the phone is being launched.
Samsung’s new device this time is the S3370, which has previously been known as the Corby 3G, Acton and Pocket 3G.
The handset itself is a quad band 3G handset. Samsung is also aiming the handset at the lower end of the market.
It features a 2.8 inch resistive touchscreen and a 1.3 megapixel camera with fixed focus and video recording. It also has a slide out keypad, music player and an FM radio.
Also installed are Facebook and Twitter applications which will allow users to access favourite social network web sites; Skype and Windows Live Messenger are available free to download.
If you enjoy using Samsung handsets then you can get it this phone contract for £15 per month.
Two other new phones which should be in the UK by May 28th are the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi. Both are believed to be on the O2 network and will be available free on contract.
Both the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus will run on Palm’s own operating system. As such, this will enable multiple applications to be run simultaneously.
Palm is hoping that launching both phones together will improve sales.
