Second Wave For Samsung

HTC Peep 200x300 Second Wave For SamsungAs well as announcing the Galaxy Tablet, Korean manufacturer Samsung has also launched the Wave 723, the second version of the Bada-powered handset.

The new device which is rumoured to be available from this month will also be a more affordable handset. Even so, it still manages to pack in a 3.2 inch WQVGA TFT touchscreen (rather than the Super AMOLED touchscreen found in the original Wave) and a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash.

Other features are a multi-touch Dolfin web browser, WiFi support and assisted GPS navigation.

Samsung’s unique selling point in its handsets is its social hub system; tweets and texts can be viewed on the homescreen.

Finally, there is direct access to Samsung’s applications store where a wealth of different applications, games and other software is available.

In other news, tweeting has grown in popularity in the short time frame it’s been around. As such, HTC has been using this fact to improve access to twitter services via its own handsets.

However the company’s popular Peep widget was off line the other day – this has affected many of their popular handsets including the HTC Desire & HTC HD2.

HTC said that due to “forbidden access” issues on Windows devices the Peep app needs to be updated urgently in order to ensure that service is restored to currently unable to use Twitter on their handset.
