Surprise For Motorola Lovers
Motorola gave its supporters a surprise when the company announced the launch of not one but two new handsets.
As well as announcing the Milestone 2 they also said they were launching the Motorola Defy.
This new device features a 3.7 inch touchscreen and is powered by Android 2.1 operating system.
The handset also has an ultra-tough Gorilla Glass display and a strong frame that is hardy enough to withstand most scrapes, dust and water.
The phone itself is apparently not as powerful as the Motorola Milestone 2 as the internal memory is just 2GB while the microprocessor is only 800MHz.
Other features however are a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, digital zoom, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and A-GPS support.
No details however, were revealed as to when the new handset will be officially released or which network will have first pick.
As for the Motorola Milestone 2, this new handset is a follow on from the successful Milestone XT720 and the original Milestone.
The new device is powered by Android 2.2 with a 1GHz processor. It also has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash as well as 720p video plus Adobe Flash Player 10.1.
The 3.7 inch 480 x 854 multi-touch display should also enhance browsing experience.
Finally, the Milestone 2 incorporates 8GB of internal memory and an 8GB card supplied (expandable to 32GB), which is plenty to support movies, music and applications.
