Carphone Warehouse, the well known UK based mobile phone seller, is launching a set of new tariffs involving tethering.

There are reports that version 2 of Google’s Nexus smartphone is heading to UK shores very shortly. Another rumour is Carphone Warehouse has signed an exclusivity deal with Google.

Called the OT-980 the new Android phone, version 2.1 features WiFi, HSPA up to 7.2Mbps, a 2.8 inch touch display, mp3 player, Unified Instant Messenger client, Unified-mail, Social networking client, a 2 megapixel camera and E-Compass – a useful piece of software in case you get lost..

An eighteen year old girl found her mobile phone loaded with pornographic images after having taken it to be repaired, according to an article in The Sun. The article, which claims the girl was “deeply traumatised” by the incident took her Nokia mobile phone to be repaired at Carphone Warehouse, only for it to come back loaded with X rated photographs and as many as ten pornographic video clips. To add insult to injury, when the girl rang Carphone Warehouse to complain, the company is alleged to have been uninterested in her story, and offered her just ten pounds in compensation

Carphone Warehouse has just signed a deal with Acer to sell the company’s Liquid handset.

Carphone Warehouse has just announced an online deal for the HTC Desire. The first deal includes a free handset on the T-Mobile network; 900 minutes, anytime, any network; 500 texts – again anytime and any network. The cost is £30 per month, on a 24 month contract.

Motorola’s Android 2.0 smartphone is now available from Carphone Warehouse.
