It appears that Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 Mini Pro is getting a makeover – an update to the Android operating system and a new microprocessor and that is before it is even officially launched.

The platform update will be Gingerbread, Android 2.3, while the processor is a 1GHz Qualcomm chip. Other known features are a 3 inch screen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The details of the updates came from a couple of internet sources, which have been monitoring this new member of the Xperia family quite closely.

However Sony Ericsson has been a bit coy over anything else that the new device might possess. Is the company playing another cat and mouse game? Sony for instance, has not given any details of release date, but from the pictures leaked online, analysts believe it can’t be too far a way. Some suggest the summer.

Meanwhile, if you are looking for a ‘fashionable’ phone rather than one which is all bells and whistles, then the following might fit the bill.

The Samsung S7070 Diva was recently voted as one of the most fashionable smartphones on sale to date. If looks are everything, this particular device has it in spades with its ice white frame and pink screen.

The number one smartphone in this particular poll however is the BlackBerry Curve 3G with its pink frame. Analysts generally believe that Blackberries are rather dull. The Curve 3G however caught their eye.
